FC Cincinnati are reportedly interested in promising Flamengo forward Lincoln, but there appears to be plenty of competition for his signature.

The forward, who turned 20 on Dec. 16, is reportedly not in the Brazilian club’s plans although he’s under contract through Dec. 31, 2023. He’s currently training with the U-20s, Globo Esporte reports.

Lincoln has scored four goals in 33 appearances for the senior team in all competitions since being promoted on Jan. 1, 2018, including three in 20 appearances in 2020. Lincoln made his professional debut for Flamengo at age 16, coming on as a substitute against Corinthians in a Brazilian Serie A match.

FC Cincinnati have also been linked with Atalanta star Papu Gomez, who will reportedly be departing the Italian club after a dust up with the club's manager.

“We’re looking for a high-profile DP, a decision-maker," FC Cincinnati GM Gerard Nijkamp told media on a virtual press conference when asked if the club were looking for a DP attacking midfielder. "We’re working on that."

Huddersfield Town of the English Championship has been in contract with a loan offer, according to the Daily Mail, and there is reportedly expectations Ukraine side Dynamo Kyiv will return with additional interest after a deal was nearly struck in October.

Flamengo accepted an offer from Pafos FC to speak with Lincoln, but a formal deal, with salary and term from the Cyprian club, never materialized.

Lincoln, who can also play on either wing, has 13 goals in 29 appearances for Brazilian youth national teams.
