FC Cincinnati have acquired Atlanta United left back Greg Garza for $250,000 in Target Allocation Money and $200,000 in General Allocation Money, the club announced Tuesday.

Garza won 2018 MLS Cup with Atlanta United on Saturday and made 37 appearances over two seasons for the Five Stripes. The 27-year-old joined the club from Liga MX side Club Tijuana.

“We are thrilled to add someone with Greg’s soccer pedigree to our backline for next season,” FC Cincinnati head coach Alan Koch said in a statement. “He has played at the highest level of soccer in the United States and Mexico and has been a key component of his team at every stop. We look forward to what Greg will bring to our group on and off the pitch next season.”

Garza's career started in Portugal, playing for Sporting CP's U-19 side before moving to Portuguese club Estoril Praia where he made three appearances. The bulk of his playing days have been in Mexico, spending 2012-17 with Tijuana, with a loan to Atlas in 2016. Garza made 66 appearances for Tijuana.

He has registered 10 caps with the US men's national team in 2014 and was a part of the 2015 Gold Cup squad. His last cap came in January 2017.
