FC Cincinnati have acquired midfielder Victor Ulloa from FC Dallas in exchange for $150,000 General Allocation Money, which could rise a further $100,000 based on performance, the club announced Wednesday.

Ulloa, 26, was one of FC Dallas' many Homegrown success stories, making 114 appearances since making his debut in 2014. A defensive midfielder, Ulloa started 25 games for FCD in 2018.

“Victor brings significant MLS experience to our group,” FC Cincinnati head coach Alan Koch said in a statement. “We believe he can help stabilize our midfield and is another important piece of the puzzle as we continue to solidify our roster ahead of next season.”

After acquiring Fatai Alashe in July as well as drafting Eric Alexander and the rights to Roland Lamah at the Expansion Draft on Tuesday, FC Cincy continue to fill their midfield. They already signed USL holdovers Nazmi Albadawi, Corben Bone, Emmanuel Ledesma and Jimmy McLaughlin.

FC Dallas continue their overhaul, after trading Homegrown midfielder Kellyn Acosta at the beginning of the season, selling star midfielder Mauro Diaz over the summer, losing head coach Oscar Pareja at the end of the season as well as reportedly losing vice president of soccer operations Luiz Muzzi to Orlando City SC. The club is reportedly set to replace Ulloa with Honduran international midfielder Bryan Acosta.
