Nick Hagglund - Toronto FC

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Trade

FC Cincinnati acquired defender Nick Hagglund from Toronto FC in exchange for $300,000 in total Allocation Money as well as the top spot in Major League Soccerā€™s Allocation Order.

Toronto will receive $150,000 in 2019 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $50,000 in 2020 GAM, as well as $100,000 in 2020 Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). TFC will also receive an additional $50,000 in GAM should Cincinnati trade Hagglund prior to the close of the Primary Transfer Window. In addition to Hagglund, FCC will also get Toronto's No. 24 spot in the Allocation Order.

Hagglund, 26, spent the first five seasons of his MLS career with TFC, making 88 appearances. With Toronto, he won MLS Cup, Supporters' Shield and three Canadian Championships. The center back was born in Cincinnati and played college soccer at Xavier University.

ā€œWe are thrilled to add Nick to our roster,ā€ FC Cincinnati head coach Alan Koch said in a media release. ā€œHe has been part of a team that has captured an MLS Cup championship and knows what is required to achieve and sustain success in this league. We look forward to his return to Cincinnati and seeing him embrace this opportunity to play for his hometown.ā€

TFC, having already used the top spot in the Allocation Order to sign Laurent Ciman earlier this offseason, is now back in the pole position.

ā€œThis deal gives us flexibility on our budget both in the short and long term," Toronto GM Ali Curtis said. "In addition, the number one allocation ranking gives us the option of acquiring another player and/or asset either during this transfer window or in the summer. On behalf of everyone at Toronto FC, we want to thank Nick for his contributions and we wish him the best as he moves back home to Cincinnati.ā€
