Dynamo U-18s remain unbeaten

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo U-18 team remains undefeated in games played since the academy's inception, as the "Boys in Orange" came from behind to earn a 2-2 tie against San Jacinto Community College this afternoon.

San Jac took advantage of two defensive lapses by the Dynamo defense to score their first goal of the afternoon at the 25th minute of action, and to take a 2-0 lead at the 57th minute. Just when the U-18 team seemed doomed for failure, however, they made a comeback in true Dynamo fashion.

The first goal for the academy came at the 75th minute. After a great individual play and pass from the right side, Samir Peña scored his first goal with the academy by pushing the ball in without much effort inside the box.

At the 83rd minute of play, 7 minutes before the end of the game, Dynamo gained the equalizer with a goal by Walberto "Pana" Vazquez. Vazquez finished what turned out to be a great individual play on offense to keep his team undefeated. Nicholas Jankovsky was the man of the match for the Dynamo, thanks to his outstanding play at center back.

Both teams will face off once more on Wednesday, March 28 at 6:15 p.m. at Carl Lewis Track Field, as the U-18 team wraps up a round of friendly games before heading off to Frisco, TX to compete in the Dallas Cup.
