D.C. United will don the “Marble Jersey” during the 2021 MLS season, with the club announcing their new adidas away jersey for the upcoming campaign on Friday.
The marble pattern is representative of the national monuments found throughout Washington, D.C. Marble is known for its strength and resilience, as well as its diversity – qualities that surface in the capital city’s residents.
The away kit has a red, white and blue color scheme instead of D.C.’s normal black and red colorway. The “Marble Jersey” is resemblant of D.C. United’s 1998 season, when the club wore the iconic “Cat in the Hat” kit with the same color scheme.
The “Marble Jersey” also has a new and updated “Unite the District” shirt tag, with that phrase surfacing in how D.C. United aim to have soccer bring together people of all backgrounds. The jersey’s front is again emblazoned with a Leidos sponsorship, as has been the case since 2014.
