D.C. United have kicked off the offseason with a series of roster moves.
The club announced on Monday have acquired winger Lamar Neagle from Seattle Sounders FC in exchange for general allocation money and targeted allocation money. In a separate move, United traded Chris Pontius to the Philadelphia Union in exchange for general allocation money and targeted allocation money. Per league and club policy, additional terms of both deals were not disclosed.
In addition, D.C. United have announced the year-end roster moves for the 2016 season on Monday, exercising the options of the team’s leading assist man Fabián Espíndola and nine other players.
United also exercised the 2016 options of defenders Sean Franklin, Steve Birnbaum, Taylor Kemp, Chris Korb and Luke Mishu, goalkeeper Travis Worra, forward Conor Doyle, and midfielders Miguel Aguilar and Jared Jeffrey.
