Danny Dichio's boots hit the web for charity

Bid on Danny's boots now »

Toronto FC striker Danny Dichio is donating his game worn boots to a good cause. He's putting the boots worn May 12th up for auction. That day, history was made forever when the Englishman scored the very first goal for Toronto FC.

All monies raised will go towards a purchase of new equipment for a child at Bloorview Kids Rehab the largest rehabilitation hospital in Canada.

"Danny visited Bloorview with 5 other Toronto FC players back in July," said Bloorview Development Officer Rakesh Tripathi. "He met kids from the in-patient floor and also made a special trip to meet some kids in the critical care unit. The fact that he's making such a generous donation will definitely make a huge impact on the lives of one of these children and their family."

"When we were at the facility, we visited a lot of kids that will be in there for a long time," said Dichio. "People always ask me to donate different things to auctions - and this is a really great facility that can help a lot of kids. Hopefully the boots will raise a lot of funds for whatever is needed, whether it be new equipment or a wheelchair."

Also included in the package with the autographed boots will be a certificate of authenticity, as well as an autographed seat cushion from that historic day

.
