There was, of course, plenty of banter on social media, from fans of both sides of the NY Derby before, during and after Sundayās match, won by New York City FC, 1-0, at Yankee Stadium.
Most of it was the usual shade, involving colors, a baseball stadium and geography.
An NYCFC fan tweeted at Wright-Phillips and Alex Callens, poking fun at how well the defender kept BWP in check over the course of 90 minutes.
One of those liking the tweet was Callens, prompting this epic response from BWP, referencing the āWhoās your daddyā chants Red Bulls rain down on NYCFC because of Wright-Phillips' stunning strike rate of 11 goals in 11 league games vs. their rivals.
