Columbus Crew SC, FC Cincinnati wear armbands in tribute to Dayton victims

Dayton Strong - CLBvCIN - THUMB ONLY

In the first MLS meeting between Columbus Crew SC and FC Cincinnati, the two Ohio rivals came together to honor victims of a recent shooting tragedy in nearby Dayton.

Players from both teams posed with a "#DaytonStrong" sign prior to the match and wore black armbands on their sleeves over their jerseys to remember the nine people killed in the tragedy, which occurred last Sunday.

The MAPFRE Stadium crowd also observed a moment of silence out of respect for those impacted by the violence in Dayton, as well as in similar recent incidents in El Paso, Texas and Gilroy, California.
