The Colorado Rapids will look a little bit different when they hit the field against New York City FC on Saturday, with the club announcing on Wednesday that it has signed a jersey sponsorship agreement with Transamerica that will see the financial services company’s logo placed on the front of the Rapids’ uniforms.

The agreement, which was brokered by Denver-based Impression Sports & Entertainment, runs through the 2016 season. Transamerica will be the second jersey-front sponsor in Rapids history.

“We are truly grateful and excited to announce this new global partnership with Transamerica,” Rapids President Tim Hinchey said in a statement released by the club. “Transamerica has wonderful history with an iconic brand that is poised to make a significant impact in our club, our sport, our league and here in Colorado.”

“As someone who grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, the Transamerica Pyramid is a true landmark and I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome such a company into our family of great partners. This is another historic moment for our club and a great example of where we are heading.”

One of the world’s leading financial services companies, Transamerica provides insurance, investments and more to nearly 20 million customers. Founded in 1904 in San Francisco, Transamerica claimed its iconic place in the city’s skyline in 1972, when the Transamerica Pyramid was completed.

The Transamerica logo will be featured on the club’s primary and secondary match jerseys throughout the next two seasons as well as at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are a company with a history of helping individuals and families today as well as tomorrow. That includes a strong commitment to delivering for our customers and supporting the communities our employees and customers live in,” Denver-based Transamerica Chief Marketing Officer Blake Bostwick said in the statement. “Soccer is a great fit for Transamerica as we recognize the role sports play in all our lives. We are excited to partner with the Colorado Rapids and Major League Soccer as it continues to expand and flourish.”
