Chris Wondolowski scores 136th career MLS goal, 9 away from all-time record

Chris Wondolowski entered Saturday's 3-1 victory over Minnesota United FC as a 55th-minute sub, but when Video Review left the San Jose Earthquakes with a penalty kick in the 75th minute, there was no question who was headed to the spot.


Wondo stepped up and coolly buried the shot, hard and low to the right as Bobby Shuttleworth dove the other way. The strike marked his 136th MLS regular-season goal, solidifying his position as No. 2 on the league's all-time list, where he trails Landon Donovan by nine for the record.
