CARSON, Calif. - Chivas USA's historic debut in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday will be broadcast live on all seven affiliates of radio network Que Pasa, North Carolina's largest and oldest Hispanic communications company. The match, which pits the MLS expansion side against the Charlotte Eagles of the United Soccer Leagues Second Division, is set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. ET) at Davidson College in the city of Davidson, North Carolina. Head Coach Hans Westerhof and Assistant Coach Martín Vásquez arrived this afternoon at Charlotte Douglas International Airport shortly after 4:00 p.m. ET (1:00 p.m. PT), accompanied by the following 16-man traveling squad: Esteban Arias, Javier Barragán, Armando Begines, Héctor Cuadros, Francisco Gómez, Brad Guzan, Ezra Hendrickson, Antonio Martínez, Thiago Martins, Francisco Mendoza, Jesús Ochoa, Orlando Pérez, Matt Taylor, Arturo Torres, Ramón Ramírez and Isaac Romo.


The winner of Wednesday's Third Round match - Chivas USA's first trip to North Carolina - will advance to the Fourth Round of the prestigious knockout tournament, where it will face Chivas USA's cross-stadium rivals the Los Angeles Galaxy. This match is scheduled for Wednesday, August 3 at a time and location to be determined.


The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. First held in 1914, it is the oldest annual team tournament in U.S. sports history and among the oldest soccer tournaments of its type in the world. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor longtime soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
