The Chicago Fire announced on Thursday they have signed two wingers, Cristian Martinez and Amando Moreno. Both players are under contract for the upcoming 2019 season, with club options on Martinez's deal for 2020 and 2021, while Moreno's deal has club options for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons.

"Amando and Cristian showed a lot of quality in their time with their former clubs, which was something that captured our attention," said Chicago head coach Veljko Paunovic in a statement. "They both have attacking qualities that we will be able to rely on. We are excited to work with them because we believe that there is a high ceiling for their development."

Martinez, 21, played the last three seasons for Columbus Crew SC. The Panamanian made 27 MLS regular season appearances, scoring one goal and two assists, and featured in one MLS Cup Playoff match. Chicago obtained his rights in the 2018 Waiver Draft.

Moreno, 23, began his professional career as a Homegrown signing of the New York Red Bulls. After making two appearances in his debut campaign in 2013, Moreno moved to Club Tijuana the following year, and split time in Mexico between Xolos and Dorados on loan. Last year, he returned to the US and played regularly for New York Red Bulls II in the USL Championship, scoring 11 goals.

The Fire open the 2019 MLS regular season on March 2 at the LA Galaxy
