TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Trade

After spending the first six seasons of his career with the LA Galaxy, Brian Rowe is changing addresses. His next stop: Vancouver.

The Whitecaps and Galaxy announced on Friday that they agreed to a trade that will see Rowe join the Cascadia club. In exchange for the veteran goalkeeper, LA are receiving Vancouver's natural second round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.

Additionally, the Whitecaps have exercised Rowe's 2018 contract option. He will officially be added to the team roster pending receipt of his international transfer certificate, Canadian work permit, and visa.

"Brian is an experienced 'keeper who has played in some very big games with the Galaxy," said Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson in a statement released by the club. "Brian has the right temperament, he's consistent, and he'll make the big saves. Our goalkeeper coach Stewart Kerr has experience working with Brian and cannot say enough about his fantastic locker room presence. He's a great teammate and will provide healthy competition for Stefan Marinovic."

The 29-year-old Rowe started in 12 of the 14 matches he appeared in for the Galaxy in 2017. He made 35 saves in those games, and recorded two shutouts.
