Blanco misses Leg 1 vs. Houston due to burns from boiling water incident

Sebastian Blanco - Portland Timbers

Sebastian Blanco has been one of the most integral pieces of the Portland Timbers attack this season. Unfortunately for him and the Timbers, the Argentine was a late scratch from Monday night's Western Conference Semifinal 1st Leg match against the Houston Dynamo.

According to The Oregonian's Jamie Goldberg, the absence was due to second-degree burns on top of his right foot from boiling water.

Dairon Asprilla took Blanco's place in the starting XI on the right side of the Timbers' formation. The Colombian has two goals and four assists this season.

Blanco was one of two regular starters forced to miss the match as central midfielder David Guzman also sat out with a knee sprain, according to The Oregonian's Goldberg.
