Bastian Schweinsteiger misses Fire-Revs match due to birth of second child

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Grant Lillard - Chicago Fire - high fives

Bastian Schweinsteiger missed out on the Chicago Fire's visit to the New England Revolution on Saturday night, but it was most definitely an excused absence.

The German legend and his spouse, tennis superstar Ana Ivanovic, are welcoming a new addition to their family, and just like their son Luka, who was born in Chicago last year, this one will be American by birth.

In Schweinsteiger's absence, the Fire started Micheal Azira in midfield vs. the Revs, with Francisco Calvo and Johan Kappelhof in central defense.
