A pair of Eastern Conference foes coming off very different midweek results square off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium when Atlanta United host the Montreal Impact Saturday evening.

Atlanta United (8-6-2) are looking to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to Toronto FC at BMO Field Wednesday night. The Five Stripes trailed inside the opening 30 seconds, but rallied to take a 2-1 lead on goals by Pity Martinez and Julian Gressel. Alejandro Pozuelo headed in a 27th-minute equalizer before scoring the dramatic and controversial winner from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time. Martinez had a chance to equalize at the death after another penalty was awarded following the third Video Review of the game, but he skied his effort.

Orji Okwonkwo struck for a brace to help lift the Impact (9-7-3) to a 2-1 win over the visiting Portland Timbers Wednesday night at Stade Saputo. Okwonkwo opened the scoring in the 28th minute, but Tomas Conechny leveled for the Timbers with his first MLS goal in the 53rd minute. Okwonkwo sealed the win for the Impact with a brilliant spin-and-volley golazo in the 66th minute, exiting to huge cheers three minutes later.
