Anthony Jackson-Hamel scores fastest goal from start of a match in 2019

Anthony Jackson-Hamel scored just 27 seconds into the Montreal Impact’s match against Minnesota United FC for the fastest goal we've seen from the start of a match in the 2019 MLS season.

And it was a beauty.

The terrific solo effort saw Jackson-Hamel split a pair of Loons defenders before nutmegging center back Brent Kallman on a cutback and finishing with his left from just inside the six-yard box.

The goal is tied for 15th fastest goal in MLS history from the start of a match. That all-time record is held by Mike Grella of the New York Red Bulls, who scored just seven seconds into a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Union Oct. 18, 2015.

And Jackson-Hamel's goal ranks as the second-fastest goal from the start of a match in Montreal Impact club history. That mark is held by Andres Romero, who tallied 22 seconds into a 3-3 draw with Toronto FC July 3, 2013.

Unfortunately for the Impact, the goal did not help them to a victory. The visiting Loons came back to erase that deficit and claim a big 3-2 road win, jumping into 3rd place in the Western Conference.
