It's pretty convenient that MLSsoccer.com's Colorado Rapids beat writer is also a meteorologist.

Chris Bianchi, who is a full-time TV weatherman with WeatherNation, compares the conditions at Dick's Sporting Goods Park for Sunday's Colorado vs. Chivas USA match-up (3 pm ET, UniMas) to the USA vs. Costa Rica SnowClasico in March 2013.

According to forecasts received by MLS operations officials, there is a "90 percent chance of snow from noon through midnight. The snow will be wet in nature. Snow intensity will be light to briefly moderate during the entirety of the event."

The Rapids say they are "continually monitoring the conditions to make sure it is a safe environment for fans, staff, and players."

"We are well-equipped to deal with weather like this and we fully expect today’s match to be played on time and as scheduled," a Rapids spokesman told MLSsoccer.com on Sunday morning.
