AMSTERDAM – Ethan Horvath and Molde FK clinched a place in the Europa League knockouts with two Group A games to spare thanks to a 2-1 victory at Celtic on Thursday night.
The young American logged five saves, a punch and a cross catch to win his sixth straight match across all competitions. Horvath did his best work with top stops on Mikael Lustig and Nir Bitton that kept Molde in front during the second half.
Now assured of a place in the final 32 of a UEFA tournament for the first time since 1996, Molde can secure the top spot in their group when second-place Fenerbahçe visit for Matchday 5 on Nov. 26.
