AMSTERDAM – Ethan Horvath and Molde FK dropped a hard-luck 1-0 decision to Tippeligaen visitors FK Haugesund on Friday night.

The 20-year-old netminder, who is set to make his first career Champions League start on Tuesday, suffered his first pro loss after seven unbeaten matches due to an early breakaway strike by Simon Diedhiou. Horvath rallied to make three saves, including a big point-blank denial of Christian Gytkjaer in the 63rd minute.

Molde would carry play for much of the evening and fall victim to all sorts of close calls in front of goal, including a pair of fair penalty shouts. Due to their first defeat of any kind on over a month, the defending champs tentatively remained in fourth place.
