AMSTERDAM – Roller coaster home form continued for Emerson Hyndman's Fulham with a 2-0 Championship defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night.
In his first start in three games, the young US midfielder worked a solid 64-minute shift. Hyndman's biggest contribution of the game came 10 minutes prior to his exit, when he blocked a close-range Elliott Bennett shot to keep the game scoreless.
Though his impact was largely confined to the middle third of the field, Hyndman completed 51 of 56 passes while committing just one handling turnover. His efficient night not only extended his lead atop Fulham's passing percentage chart at 89 percent, it nudged him incrementally past Reading's Daniel Williams for the top completion rate among Americans playing in Europe this season.
As for Fulham, they remain five points above the trap door in 17th place. They also have not won consecutive matches at Craven Cottage since October.
