Clint Irwin closeup, Colorado Rapids

Most Major League Soccer players don't get hounded by paparazzi and screaming fans in their home cities, and they're generally OK with it. In fact, some superstars from overseas have actually cited the ability to walk the streets without fear as a benefit to joining the league.

All the same, Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin might have expected a bit more recognition when he donned a pair of sunglasses and interviewed fans taking in the MLS All-Star Celebration at Skyline Park in downtown Denver over the weekend.

Moving among the crowds taking in the festivities ahead of Wednesday night's 2015 MLS All-Star Game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park (9 pmET; FOX Sports 1, UniMás in US; TSN, RDS in Canada), Irwin and his camera crew found four unsuspecting subjects to ask them about the Rapids' goalkeeping this season.

Seeking input about the quality of his work in the nets thus far this year, Irwin discovered few voices eager to speak out in his defense...and even fewer who caught on to the identity of the man holding the microphone. (It was a Rapids-branded microphone, by the way. Come on, people – pay attention!)

“Seems logical,” said one fan at the suggestion that Colorado's 'keeper deserves to get benched after the Rapids' rough start to the campaign. “Yeah, he just catches the ball, right? I figure you could find a guy that catches the ball pretty easy.”
