Alex Morgan, Servando Carrasco announce they're expecting first child in 2020

Servando Carrasco – LA Galaxy – tight shot

Servando Carrasco has more than MLS games to look forward to in 2020. On Wednesday, the LA Galaxy midfielder and his wife, US women’s national team star Alex Morgan, announced on social media that they’re expecting their first child, a baby girl, next April.

The couple have been together since their mutual University of California, Berkeley days, and were wed on New Year's Eve heading into 2015.

They’re arguably the most prominent American soccer couple, though Sydney Leroux and Orlando City striker Dom Dwyer are certainly in the conversation. They’ve had two children, while Leroux returned to action with the Orlando Pride in late September – three months after giving birth.

Morgan, who has spent the last several years as Leroux’s teammate in Orlando, could miss the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. They’re set to begin July 24, a short three months after Morgan is expected to give birth.

Since bursting onto the USWNT stage in 2010, Morgan has won two FIFA Women’s World Cups (2015, 2019) and one Olympic gold medal (2012). The center forward has 107 goals, placing her in the top five on the USWNT goalscoring chart.

Carrasco, 31, is in his ninth MLS season and is preparing for Thursday’sEl Trafico (10:30 pm ET | ESPN, ESPN Deportes in US; TVAS, TSN4 in Canada) against LAFC as part of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs. During stops with LA, Orlando, Kansas City, Houston and Seattle, he’s amassed two goals and seven assists in 161 appearances.

Just maybe their kid will surpass them both on the pitch. All eyes on the 2039 Women's World Cup.
