After lower-tier sucess, MLS job in the offing for Marc Dos Santos?

Marc Dos Santos - coaching Swope Park Rangers

Marc Dos Santos, who has coached three separate lower-division teams to North American title matches in as many seasons, told a Portuguese outlet that he is weighing opportunities in MLS.

"I am going to visit my family who is in Montreal, but before that I am still analyzing some proposals that I have to go to MLS," the Canadian-born coach said in a Portuguese-language interview with Tribuna Expresso. "I still cannot say where."

Dos Santos coached the expansion San Francisco Deltas to the NASL Soccer Bowl title this season before announcing his resignation on Friday. He also led Swope Park Rangers (also in their first season) to the 2016 USL Cup final, after taking the Ottawa Fury (now in USL) to the NASL championship match in 2015.

He also led Montreal Impact (now in MLS) to the USL title in 2009.

The two remaining coaching vacancies in MLS are with the Colorado Rapids and Portland Timbers.

"My goal is to reach the highest possible level in the market where I am, which is North America," he said. "…I want to get as far as possible. But I think when we focus a lot on tomorrow and what we want to be afterwards, we lose the things we can get today."
