HOW ACQUIRED: Traded from Montreal on December 22, 2016.

Shipp set the league on fire in the early part of his 2014 rookie campaign, and ended up as a finalist for the MLS Rookie of the Year award. He led the Fire in assists in 2015, and was voted in at No. 6 on the MLS 24 Under 24 list. Despite these successes, Chicago felt he was surplus to requirements, and Shipp was sent to Montreal and had a disappointing 2016 season. He will to get back on track with the MLS Cup-winning Sounders in 2017.

COLLEGE: Completed outstanding college career by leading Notre Dame to the 2013 NCAA championship and being named Most Outstanding Player of the College Cup. Shipp was a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year after posting 12 goals and 10 assists as a senior. He was named second team all-Great Lakes region and third team all-BIG EAST as a junior in 2012, posting six goals and six assists. Named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie team as a Freshman.
