Carlos Borja was signed by Chivas USA on Feb. 14, 2013 in his third stint with the club after receiving a preseason invite. Prior to rejoining the Red-and-White, Borja played locally during the 2012 season with USL side the LA Blues. Borja first joined the Rojiblancos in 2006, but did not make an appearance in two seasons. After two years away from the club, Borja returned to the Goats in 2010, where he made four starts in eight appearances and tallied his first career goal.
In his latest run with the club that gave him his professional start, the defender from Anaheim, Calif. set career-highs in games played (26), starts (22), minutes (2,010) and assists (2), while displaying his versatility by playing on the back line as well as in the midfield for the Goats.
Borja was part of Chivas USA’s Youth Development Academy and also played for Chivas Guadalajara’s Second Division squad, Tapatio. At the international level, the defender collected 25 caps with the United States U-17 team and also participated with the U20s.
