Real Salt Lake and the New England Revolution meet for the only time this season in a key contest for both clubs when they face off in an interconference clash Saturday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium. Real return home after seeing their winless run extended to four games in a 2-0 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps FC, still sitting firmly in a playoff position in the Western Conference. The Revolution have pulled themselves back above the red line in the East, snapping a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win against Columbus Crew SC at Gillette Stadium last weekend.

  • Yura Movsisyan scored his seventh goal of the season, netting the late equalizer in RSL’s 1-1 draw with the Montréal Impact on Saturday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium. The total is one goal shy of Movsisyan’s single-season career-high in MLS, set in 2009, his last year in the league before moving abroad.
  • The Revolution put an end to their three-game losing streak, defeating Columbus Crew SC 3-1 on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium. Kei Kamara scored against his former club to seal the victory, his third goal for the Revs since the midseason trade.
  • The Revolution won the lone meeting between the teams last season, a 4-0 victory April 25 at Gillette Stadium, their first victory in the series since 2009, snapping a seven-game Real undefeated streak in the series. RSL had won three consecutive meetings, with wins in six of the seven contests in their streak, with one draw.
  • The Revolution have never won at Rio Tinto Stadium, their only victories in Utah having come at Rice-Eccles Stadium, the last in 2007. Real had won on three consecutive visits to Foxborough, dating back to 2010, before last year’s Revolution victory.
