One month to the World Cup: Ramos calls in nine MLSers for U-20 camp in Austria

Real Salt Lake's Jordan Allen screams in celebration

It seems Tab Ramos has had his eye on MLS over the first month-and-a-half of the season.

For the first time in 2015, Real Salt Lake midfielder Jordan Allen (above), Philadelphia Union forward Zach Pfeffer, and Seattle Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan have been called up to the US U-20 national team.

Orlando City SC defender Conor Donovan, Toronto FC midfielder Marky Delgado, Columbus Crew SC midfielder Romain Gall, New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga, Sporting Kansas City defender Erik Palmer-Brown, and San Jose Earthquakes forward Tommy Thompson are the the other six MLS players that are part of this camp.

The team will train in Linz, Austria from April 18-26 and will play two friendly matches over the course of the camp. First they meet fellow U-20 World Cup qualifiers Qatar on April 21, followed by a matchup against Croatia on April 25. Both games will be played at Red Bull Arena, home of FC Red Bull Salzburg in Wals-Siezenheim, Austria.

Eleven of the 20 players on the roster competed at the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, including Tottenham Hotspur product Cameron Carter-Vickers and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Junior Flores.

The US was drawn into Group A at the U-20 World Cup with hosts New Zealand, first-time participants Myanmar, and Ukraine. The US opens the tournament on May 30 against Myanmar, continues group play on June 2 against New Zealand and wraps the round-robin portion of the tournament against Ukraine on June 5.
