The Philadelphia Union are going for gold in 2014. Specifically, more gold in their home jersey.
The club unveiled a new edition of their primary kit on Tuesday at a meet-the-team event held at a local Philadelphia restaurant. And gone is the Philadelphia city flag blue from the 2013 edition, which has now made way for more gold features.
In addition to a gold neck line and three gold stripes down the shoulder and arm, the 2014 shirt also sports two thin gold stripes down the front of the jersey on either side of the team's traditional gold center stripe.
And there's more gold on the back of the shirt, where six pinstripes run down the length of the jersey with the rattlesnake from the club's crest carrying over from the previous version.
Every MLS team is unveiling new jerseys as part of 2014 Jersey Week, which is being held from March 3-7 in the lead-up to the start of the new season on Saturday, March 8.
