DC United unveil new 2014 primary kits with a nod to club tradition
As they enter their 19th season of existence, D.C. United has succeeded in maintaining a fairly consistent look throughout the years with their all-black primary kit.
The club's new 2014 edition of the home jersey, unveiled at a season ticket holder event on Saturday, keeps with that traditional theme, but it adds several new, subtle details that the diehard DC supporters will appreciate.
First, the eagle that is featured in the logo appears on the front jock tag (lower, front left) and the eagle's wing patterns are embossed into the three adidas stripes that run down both sleeves.
And in case you didn't know how important "Tradition" was to the club and its fans, the word itself is written out on the back collar and the inside of the neck tape together with a depiction of the iconic eagle.
Fans can purchase the jersey on MLSGear.com (US residents).
