A pair of clubs desperately clinging to playoff ambitions meet in an interconference clash when Columbus Crew SC play host to the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday evening at Mapfre Stadium. Crew SC sit in a tie for ninth place in the Eastern Conference, six points below the red line with 10 games to play, following their 2-1 home loss to Philadelphia Union at midweek.
