The Houston Dynamo return home in a real need of points when they meet Toronto FC for the only time this season in an interconference match on Saturday evening at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo sit at the foot of the Western Conference table, 12 points out of a playoff position, their winless run now at five games following a 1-0 loss at the Montréal Impact last weekend. Toronto FC hit the road after winning all four games in a homestand at BMO Field, now sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference following their 4-1 win against the New England Revolution last Saturday evening.

  • The Dynamo had their winless run stretched to five matches with a fourth shutout in that time, falling 1-0 to the Montréal Impact on Saturday evening at Stade Saputo.
  • Sebastian Giovinco scored his fourth career MLS hat trick – one shy of the all-time league record – and took over the lead in the MLS Golden Boot standings with 15 goals, as Toronto FC won for the third time in a week in their 4-1 win against the New England Revolution on Saturday evening at BMO Field. TFC’s overall four-game winning streak matches the club record, set last season.
