Two teams in the thick of the chase for places in the MLS Cup Playoffs meet in an interconference matchup as Philadelphia Union play host to Real Salt Lake on Sunday evening at Talen Energy Stadium. Union come into the match sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference, returning home off of a 5-1 loss at the Montreal Impact last weekend. Real hit the road after a fourth consecutive draw at Rio Tinto Stadium, sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference after a 1-1 result with the San Jose Earthquakes.


  • The Philadelphia Union were on the receiving end of a humbling 5-1 loss to the Montreal Impact in Week 20. Philadelphia's consolation tally came from Chris Pontius, and the club is now 8-7-6.
  • Real Salt Lake picked up a point in their last game and remained unbeaten at home this season with a 1-1 draw vs. the San Jose Earthquakes. Luke Mulholland scored the equalizer for RSL, who are winless in six straight matches and have a 8-6-7 record this year.
  • This match is the only one between the two sides during the regular season in 2016. They last met in March 2015, and split the points in a 3-3 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium.
