ORLANDO CITY SC vs. NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION
CAMPING WORLD STADIUM | Orlando, Florida
July 31, 2016 | Week 21 | MLS Game #217
7:30 pm ET (MLS LIVE)

A massive match between the teams right on the red line in the Eastern Conference is ahead when Orlando City SC play host to the New England Revolution on Sunday evening at Camping World Stadium. The teams are separated by just three points -- the Revolution holding onto the final playoff position for the moment, with Orlando City just outside. City begin the Jason Kreis era after coming back for a second consecutive draw last weekend in a 2-2 result at Columbus Crew SC, while the Revolution made it three games without loss with a 1-0 win against the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium.

  • In their last game before the official arrival of new head coach Jason Kreis, Orlando City came from behind and picked up a 2-2 draw vs. Columbus Crew SC. Kevin Molino and Cyle Larin scored to help the Lions move to 4-5-11 on the season.
  • The New England Revolution were triumphant in their last game, edging the Chicago Fire, 1-0, at home at Gillette Stadium. The game-winner came courtesy of Je-Vaugn Watson, and pushed the Revolution to 6-7-8.
  • This match at Camping World Stadium will be the last one between Orlando City and the Revolution during the regular season. These two Eastern Conference foes met twice before back in April, and each time the games ended 2-2.

Lee Nguyen scored the latest penalty kick in the clubís history, in the 96th minute, for the equalizer. Two weeks later, the teams reached another 2-2 draw at Gillette Stadium, as Nelson Rivas scored the equalizer in the 90th minute for Orlando City.
  • The teams met twice during Orlando Cityís inaugural MLS season. They reached a 2-2 draw May 8 at the Citrus Bowl in the first meeting, then the Revolution claimed a 3-0 victory Sept. 5 at Gillette Stadium.

LAST MEETING (MLS):

  • The Revolution took the lead after just seven minutes. After dribbling into the area, Diego Fagundez briefly lost the ball, but Lee Nguyen was able to slip it back to him and Fagundez drove home an angled shot.
  • But Orlando City pulled even on the half-hour when Adrian Winter cross eventually found its way to Kevin Molino's boot for a left-footed finish.
  • The Revs were back in front when Juan Agudelo finished from close range off a Kelyn Rowe cross. But City had one final gasp, Carlos Rivas beating London Woodberry to the ball after a Cyle Larin cross to poke home the equalizer as the clock turned over 90 minutes.
