CENTURYLINK FIELD ā€¢ Seattle, Washington
July 13, 2016 ā€¢ Week 19 ā€¢ MLS Game #186
10:30 pm ET (MLS LIVE, Q13 FOX, TWCSC-TX)

Itā€™s a meeting of clubs at opposite ends of the Western Conference when Seattle Sounders FC play host to FC Dallas on Wednesday evening at CenturyLink Field. Sounders FC enter the game sitting at the foot of the West, now having lost three games in a row at home ā€“ all by shutout ā€“ for the first time ever following their 1-0 defeat by the LA Galaxy on Saturday afternoon. FC Dallas have won three games in a row ā€“ all by shutout ā€“ still sitting atop the conference and the MLS overall table after starting their West Coast swing with a 1-0 win at the San Jose Earthquakes last Friday evening.

  • Seattle will aim to get their attack clicking at long last after a season full of scoring woes. Currently, the club ranks last in MLS in goals scored with 14 in 17 matches.
  • Dallas, meanwhile, have been firing on all cylinders. Prior to the narrow win vs. the Earthquakes, FC Dallas routed Orlando City 4-0 on July 4.
  • The teams met in the Western Conference Semifinals for a second consecutive season last year, FC Dallas winning the series on penalty kicks after the two legs finished 3-3 on aggregate, each team winning 2-1 on its home ground. The season prior, Sounders FC advanced on away goals, after the series ended 1-1 on aggregate.
  • Sounders FC have won the last five league meetings between the teams in Seattle, and six of the eight meetings there all-time, including a 3-0 win last June 13. The only FCD win at CenturyLink Field came in 2011, a 1-0 victory on May 25.
  • Wednesday's match is the second of three meetings between the sides this season. FCD won 2-0 at Toyota Stadium on May 21, on goals by Mauro Diaz early and Michael Barrios late, and they'll host the Sounders in Frisco on Oct. 16.
  • Sounders FC lost their third consecutive game at CenturyLink Field ā€“ now having gone 271 minutes since their last league goal in a home match ā€“ following their 1-0 loss to the LA Galaxy on Saturday afternoon. Sounders FC have never gone four consecutive home games with a loss in their MLS history.
  • FC Dallas won their third consecutive game ā€“ all by shutout ā€“ after their 1-0 defeat of the San Jose Earthquakes on Friday evening at Avaya Stadium. The 315-minute defensive shutout streak is the third-longest this season in MLS.
