The English media’s fascination with Jurgen Klinsmann continued on Friday, when the US national team head coach appeared on the back cover of The Sun under the (fantastic) headline “Jur In” in reference to the vacant English national team job.
Despite multiple outlets reporting over the course of the week that the US Soccer Federation has not been contacted by the English FA about Klinsmann, some in the English media have continued pushing him for the Three Lions job.
The Sun’s report claimed that Klinsmann, who has led the USMNT since 2011 and is under contract through the 2018 World Cup, would be open to the England job should the FA come calling.
Klinsmann’s next match with the US isn’t until September, when the Americans will take on St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago in a pair of World Cup qualifiers.
