- FC Dallas put an end to a three-game winless run as Mauro Diaz set up both goals in their 2-0 win against Real Salt Lake on Saturday evening at Toyota Stadium. Diaz now has seven assists, good for second place in the MLS assist standings.
- Kaká converted a penalty kick at 100+ minutes – equaling the latest goal ever scored in an MLS game – as Orlando City claimed a 3-2 win Saturday evening at Camping World Stadium. It was a third consecutive game where Orlando City have scored the tying or winning goal in stoppage time; they have scored six goals after the 90th minute this season, most in MLS.
- The teams met once in Orlando City’s inaugural MLS campaign, FC Dallas claiming a 2-0 win July 11 in Orlando.
