Philadelphia Union put their long home undefeated streak on the line with a second game this week at Talen Energy Stadium when they play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday evening. The Eastern Conference-leading Union are riding a club-record 10-game undefeated run at home, coming off a 4-3 win against the Chicago Fire in Chester at midweek. Whitecaps FC are sitting right on the red line in the West, now back-to-back games without a win following a 2-1 home loss to the New England Revolution last Saturday at BC Place.

- Roland Alberg scored his first MLS goal, but the Union had their string of three consecutive draws away from Talen Energy Stadium put to an end in their 3-2 loss at New York City FC on Saturday afternoon.
- Whitecaps FC had their winless streak extended to three matches, their seven-game undefeated run at BC Place put to an end in a 2-1 loss to the New England Revolution on Saturday afternoon.
- Whitecaps FC won the lone meeting between the teams a year ago, a 3-0 win at BC Place, their first victory in the series since 2011. Union won once in the three meetings in between, with two draws.
- The last two meetings in Chester have ended in draws, including a 3-3 result in 2014 in the last game there. Union won 1-0 at home in the first meeting ever between the teams in 2011.
