MLS clubs taking action during first ever Greener Goals Week of Service

All 20 MLS clubs are participating in the first-ever MLS WORKS Greener Goals "Week of Service" from April 18 to April 23, doing their part in community initiatives to help educate and bring awareness to the importance of environmental sustainability.

Here are some of the highlights from the various events:


Toronto FC


TFC players and staff cleaned up and gardened at the Yonge Street Mission in Toronto.

Portland Timbers


The Timbers, including Timber Joey, helped to restore the Forest Park Wildwood Trail.



New York Red Bulls


Red Bulls staff, along with Bayer US staff, weeded bike parks and trails at Liberty State Park.

Colorado Rapids


Worked at Johnson Elementary School, including creating a community garden on the school's grounds:

FC Dallas


Team staff pitched in at the Frisco Family Services Community Garden



LAFC


MLS expansion club LAFC partnered with Pick Up & Play, cleaning Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Los Angeles and hosting a soccer clinic:

Houston Dynamo


Dynamo and Dash players and staff packed 400 boxes at the Houston Food Bank, providing over 4,700 meals, to help victims of the floods that struck the city:

Philadelphia Union


The Union cleaned the grounds around Talen Energy Stadium:



Chicago Fire


Fire players and staff were hard at work, helping to beautify the West Pullman area of the city:



Portland Timbers


Timbers players and staff cleaned donated bikes that will be given away at the Community Cycling Center:



New England Revolution


Revs players got their farm work in at White Barn Farm and a day later took part in a cleanup along the Charles River Esplanade:

Real Salt Lake


RSL held a Nutrition Assembly and helped green the playground at Granger Elementary School:

Vancouver Whitecaps


The 'Caps participated in a Shoreline Cleanup in Vancouver:



Montreal Impact


The Impact helped sort and distribute food at Moisson Montreal:



Major League Soccer


MLS league office staff took a trip out to Governors Island to help with work at the Teaching Garden:
