The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended one player and fined two others for actions taken during Week 4 of the 2016 season.
Kudo Embellishment
The Disciplinary Committee has suspended Vancouver Whitecaps forward Masato Kudo one game for simulation/embellishment in the 22nd minute of the Whitecapsā 1-0 win against Houston on Saturday. Kudo went to ground in the box and was awarded a penalty that Pedro Morales subsequently scored. Due to the impact Kudoās simulation had on the match, the Committee ruled to suspend him for Vancouverās game against the LA Galaxy on Saturday.
Hollingshead Simulation
Kudo wasnāt the only player punished for embellishment this week, as FC Dallasā Ryan Hollingshead was fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for simulation in the 24th minute of FCDās 3-0 win at D.C. United. Hollingshead wasnāt shown a card for the offense, but he did receive a warning from referee Jose Carlos Rivero following the play.
Sarvas fails to leave field in orderly manner
D.C.ās Marcelo Sarvas was fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for failing to leave the field in an orderly manner after he received a straight red card in the 66th minute of Unitedās loss to Dallas. Sarvas, who will serve his one-game red card suspension on Saturday at San Jose, had to be restrained by teammates following Jose Carlos Riveroās decision to eject him.
