There will be a new FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC) champion this year.

The 32 gamers from all across the globe that reached the annual virtual tournament competed in EA Sports' FIFA 16 on Monday in New York City, and the field was narrowed down to four after a jam-packed afternoon of pressure-filled games that saw former winners knocked out.

The group stages, round of 16, and quarterfinals were all played, and the gamers that are still alive in the competition are Ivan Lapanje (Sweden), Dylan Bance (France), Mohamad Al-Bacha (Denmark), and Sean Allen (England).

All the participants who qualified for this year's FIWC learned their group-stage fates on Sunday. The official draw, which New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard assisted with, took place in the evening in midtown Manhattan.

The semifinals and a two-legged final will be played on Tuesday evening, and fellow NYCFC Designated Player David Villa will be in attendance as a new champ is crowned.
