An England and Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard's MLS career did not get off to the quickest start. Despite a delayed arrival and debut, he managed 3 goals in 10 MLS appearances in 2015. With a whole preseason with his new teammates, Lampard will hope to show the kind of form that won him such acclaim throughout England and Europe, as he works to help push NYCFC into an elite team in MLS.
OUTSIDE MLS: Lampard spent his first six professional seasons with West Ham United before he was brought to Chelsea before the 2001-02 season. He was the runner up for the Ballon d'Or in 2005 and has won the Premier League three times with the Blues (2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10). Left Chelsea as the club's all-time leading scorer in all competitions. Played one season for Manchester City in 2014-15 before joining New York City FC, leaving the English Premier League as the highest scoring midfielder of all time, ranked fourth among all players with 177 goals.
INTERNATIONAL: Former England international (106 caps, 29 goals). Lampard was a critical piece of the England squad from 2003-14, participating in Euro 2004 and FIFA World Cups in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
