D.C. United lose first preseason game to IF Elfsborg


D.C. United kicked off their 2016 preseason slate with a friendly against Swedish side IF Elfsborg at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Viktor Claesson scored the game's only goal in just the fourth minute to give Elfsborg the 1-0 win. Check out the recap of the game over at D.C. United fan blog Black and Red United.

Red Bulls re-sign Reynish, sign Lade to extension


The New York Red Bulls announced two new deals on Friday, re-signing 2015 backup goalkeeper Kyle Reynish and signing Homegrown defender/midfielder Connor Lade to a multi-year extension. Reynish joined the club ahead of the 2015 season, while Lade, the second-longest tenured player on the team, made 18 league appearances last season en route to the Red Bulls' second Supporters' Shield.

Earnshaw delivers first team talk


Robert Earnshaw retired from professional soccer on Thursday, after a 19-year career. He penned a heartfelt open letter on WhitecapsFC.com that any soccer fan should check out. In his retirement, Earnshaw has taken up coaching and has been appointed as the head coach of the Whitecaps' U-14 Pre-Residency team. You can check out his first team talk below:

Impact show off new training kits


It was a rainy day in Orlando on Thursday but that didn't stop the Montreal Impact from participating in a mini-match. We don't know what happened in the game but we do know they have some snazzy new training kits. Are they the best in MLS?

Porter on JackMac: We need guys with a chip


It's been a tumultuous couple of years for Jack McInerney, after he was traded from the Philadelphia Union in the middle of the 2014 season. He was traded again in the middle of last season from the Impact to Columbus Crew SC and he enters the 2016 season with the Portland Timbers. He will be looking to solidify his spot in MLS and his new coach, Caleb Porter, thinks he can do it. "We need guys with a chip, we need guys who are hungry," said Porter on Thursday. Movsisyan fitting right in at training
