Transfer Watch: Mexico star Carlos Vela still eyeing MLS, but move not expected until next summer

Carlos Vela - Mexico - 2015 vs. Honduras

Rumors of Mexico star Carlos Vela coming to MLS have been hot and heavy dating back to initial reports this summer.

The latest comes from Metro writer Kristian Dyer, in a report citing a league source that indicates the Real Sociedad attacker is still eying a stateside move, but nothing will happen until summer 2016.

"Real Sociedad won't sell until summer," the league source was quoted as saying in the report. "[No deal] for now."

In October, Vela’s agent, Eduardo Hernandez told FOX Sports that the 26-year-old is considering a move to MLS and that the Colorado Rapids own his discovery rights. Other reports have linked Vela to the Chicago Fire, New York Red Bulls and San Jose Earthquakes.
