Carlos Vela's agent confirms Mexican international is listening for Colorado Rapids offer should he decide on MLS move

Carlos Vela - Mexico - 2015 vs. Honduras

Carlos Vela has been linked to MLS since Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay said that the Mexican international would leavethe club during the winter transfer window. He has been linked with the Colorado Rapids since an ESPNFC report in October.

Now his agent has confirmed that Vela is considering a move to MLS.

"Carlos has been playing in Europe for 10 years, far from his family, and that is why the United States is an alternative, but that doesn't mean that Carlos Vela's immediate future is there," Vela's agent, Eduardo Hernández, told FOX Sports. "It could be now or in two years or maybe three, we don't really know. There is much to consider, but we are of the thought that no doors should be closed. We don't want to limit Carlos' options, and that is why we are listening."

Hernández also confirmed, as has Rapids president Tim Hinchey, that Colorado have Vela's discovery rights.

"We must first address the situation of the Colorado Rapids, listening," said the agent. "But it is not a fact [Vela] is going to the MLS."

But a report on Wednesday, fromLaAficion.com, said the Chicago Fire, the New York Red Bulls and the San Jose Earthquakes are potential destinations for Vela, who could decide on an MLS move by Sunday's MLS Cup final.
