USMNT defender Greg Garza returns to Club Tijuana after unsuccessful loan to Atlas

After just five months, Greg Garza is returning to Club Tijuana.


The 24-year-old was loaned out to Atlas before the Apertura season after spending four years with Xolos. Atlas announced on Thursday that his loan spelled has ended and that he is returning to Tijuana.


The US national team defender made just three appearances with the Guadalajara-based side before undergoing hip surgery in September. The Texas-native thanked Atlas and their supporters in a tweet on Thursday.

Atlas finished 16th in the Liga MX table during the 2015 Apertura season, one spot ahead of 17th-place Tijuana.


Garza won the Apertura in 2012 with Tijuana and has recorded nine caps with the USMNT since making his debut in September 2014.
