Transfer Watch: MLS teams reportedly eyeing Esteban Cambiasso after announcing Leicester departure

Esteban Cambiasso - Transfer Watch

As soon as it was announced that former Argentine international midfielder Esteban Cambiasso would not return to Leicester City ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, the rumor mill began churning in earnest.

And along with the likes of West Ham United and Anderlecht, two MLS teams have reportedly made offers to the land the 34-year-old who helped Leicester avoid relegation last season.

A report in Argentine outlet MundoD didn’t specify which MLS teams are gunning for Cambiasso’s services, while also reporting that the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star has not ruled out a return to Argentina.

On Tuesday, Cambiasso announced he would not renew his contract with Leicester, who recently named Claudio Ranieri as the club’s new manager to replace the fired Nigel Pearson.

"I have taken this decision only 24 hours after receiving the proposal from Leicester because I want to give the club as much time as possible to find an alternative,” Cambiasso wrote on his Facebook page.
