Cody Cropper replaces Nick Rimando on USMNT roster ahead of Wednesday's friendly at Germany

US U-23 national team goalkeeper Cody Cropper applauds US fans

The US men’s national team has made a goalkeeper change ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against Germany, with Cody Cropper added to the roster after Nick Rimando left camp to return to Real Salt Lake in time for Sunday’s contest against the Colorado Rapids.

Cropper, 22, recently helped the US Under-23s to their third-place finish at the Toulon Tournament, starting three of the team’s five matches in France. He’s currently out of contract after being released by English Premier League club Southampton last month.

Rimando, who backed up Brad Guzan in last week’s 4-3 win at the Netherlands, started for RSL on Sunday against Colorado.
